Trip to Samara

Last week the kids had a half day wednesday, and we drove to Samara, a town about twenty miles down the coast. The direct road crosses a river, so we took the long way around. It took about an hour. We saw a monkey on a wire:

And we saw lots of beautiful open fields and hills, which this pic probably doesn't show:

The town was a classic beach town, much more so than anything here in Nosara. The kids had a good shopping in the tourist shops, and we had a great time swimming in the very warm and considerably calmer water. Our boogie board worked well, and we all got long rides, even though (or because?) the waves weren't very big by Nosara standards. We didn't take many good pictures on this trip, but here is a shot on the beach:

Then we had dinner in a little restaurant,

Then we stopped at a supermarket and drove home--not quite in time for me to play in the men's soccer night... Maybe this week. Gabriel and I had fun playing in a small game with our neighbors this morning, after our delicious breakfast...
